SOUTH West Trains) has confirmed that fares on its services will rise by more than two per cent from January 1.
It will see the cost of a single journey rise by an average of nine-and-a-half pence, the lowest increase for five years.
However, rail commuters in Alton can expect to see a hike of more than £96 on their annual season tickets to London Waterloo following the chancellor's Autumn Statement that season tickets and other government regulated fares will rise by 2.5 per cent.
