What is a Men’s Shed, you ask? Put simply – Petersfield Men’s Shed is a space where local men can get together to share practical and creative skills, tools and enthusiasm in their own and community projects or just have a coffee together and chat.

Our journey started nearly three years ago and after searching and endless discussions, we were finally planning our official opening day.

We took possession of 16 Heath Road in Petersfield in October last year, following discussions with East Hampshire District Council.

Since then we have developed a woodworking shed, an IT room and social room – with a metalwork shed, craft and electronics room, bike shed, games room and landscaped gardens planned.

Our membership has grown to more than 40 with space for many more.

We welcomed people to our open day on Saturday, March 4  when the ribbon-cutting ceremony was carried out by Tricia Ide, the widow of the late John Ide, the original instigator of the Petersfield Shed.
