Taylor Wimpey is hoping to build 230 houses at New Barn Farm off Alton Lane in Four Marks.

It has made an environmental impact assessment screening opinion application to East Hampshire District Council.

This request, made under regulation 6 of the Town and Country Planning (Environmental Impact Assessment) Regulations 2017, is to determine whether an environmental impact assessment is required before the developer submits a planning application.

A spokesperson for Fight4FourMarks said: “This speculative move for yet more development outside of our settlement boundary comes on top of the 100 already given outline permission and the 45 opposite Garthowen that are under consideration for the same, making a total of 375. Knowing the village, it is not making any kind of sense to us here. Comments welcome.”

Taylor Wimpey is holding a public consultation event to share the emerging proposals and gather feedback from the local community.

It will take place at Four Marks Village Hall in Lymington Bottom, Four Marks, on June 1 from 3.30pm to 7pm.
