PLANS have been submitted for a new 93-home estate on land east of Hole Lane in Bentley.

The outline application, to develop a 13-acre greenfield site on the northern edge of the village, has been submitted by landowner Robert Camping.

It seeks to establish the principle of development, including two accesses from Hole Lane to the west and School Lane to the east.

Determination of the housing scheme’s appearance, landscaping, layout and scale will be reserved for a later stage.

It is proposed the estate will provide 12 one-bedroom flats, 26 two-bedroom houses, two two-bedroom flats, 39 three-bedroom houses and 14 four-bedroom houses.

The site is currently used for grazing livestock and a public right of way (Footpath 30) runs through the centre of the site from north to south.

It also borders Jenkyn Place’s Grade II listed dwelling and formal gardens.
