POLICE are appealing for witnesses to a crash on the A32 at Lower Farringdon which left a motorcyclist with serious injuries.

The crash happened around 3.40pm last Friday when a collision occurred between a car, a flat bed van and a motorcycle at the junction of the A32 and Woodside Lane (at the northern entry to the village from the Alton direction).

The motorcyclist was seriously hurt and had to be taken to Southampton General Hospital by air ambulance.

The A32 was closed from its junction with the A31 at the Chawton roundabout and the Farringdon crossroads and reopened at 8.30pm.

Anyone who saw the crash, or the lead-up to the incident, should call the police on 101, quoting Operation Helix.
