Ofsted gave a ‘good’ overall rating to Perins Pre-School following its inspection on August 8.
It was the first inspection for the pre-school, based at Sun Hill Junior School in Sun Lane, Alresford.
The inspectors praised the pre-school for providing a “nurturing, stimulating and well-organised learning environment where children thrive”.
The report highlighted strong relationships between staff and children, an ambitious curriculum and the pre-school’s dedication to developing “well-rounded, confident learners”.
Ofsted commended the pre-school for its play-based curriculum that fostered curiosity and a love of learning. Children were encouraged to explore, from tending their own vegetable patches to experimenting with colours and textures in creative play.
The report said: “Staff have strong relationships with children and know them well. Children are happy, engaged and proud of their achievements.”
Inspectors highlighted the pre-school’s emphasis on children’s personal, social and emotional development, helping them to manage their feelings, form positive relationships and build resilience.
Staff supported them in learning about healthy eating, safety awareness and working co-operatively with peers.
Leaders were praised for fostering professional development through collaboration with other local education providers, and creating a positive, open culture around safeguarding and child welfare.
The inspectors noted strong partnerships with parents, who described the pre-school as “caring, supportive and communicative”.
Perins Pre-School began in May 2023 and has a capacity of 36 places for children aged two to five. It is open Monday to Friday from 8am to 6pm for 50 weeks of the year.
Michelle Osman, manager of Perins Pre-School, said: “We are thrilled with our first Ofsted inspection outcome.
“This rating reflects the incredible dedication of our staff, who work tirelessly to create a safe, supportive and inspiring environment for every child.
“We’re proud of what we’ve achieved in such a short time and remain committed to continuous improvement.”
