Plans to spend more than £14 million on a brand-new primary school in Fleet are set to be given the green light later this month.
Hampshire County Council is expected to approve the funding for the construction of Hartland Village Primary School on January 21, which will eventually provide places for up to 420 pupils.
The new school will form part of the major Hartland Village development of around 1,500 homes.
If approved, the school will include 14 classrooms, a main hall, studio, learning resource centre, kitchen and supporting accommodation.
Outdoor facilities will feature hardstanding areas for informal play as well as dedicated play courts.
There will be 34 standard parking spaces, two accessible bays and four electric vehicle charging points.
The school will be run by The Circle Trust and is planned to open in September 2027, initially welcoming 30 pupils into Reception, with numbers increasing year by year.
A planning application for the school was submitted in September 2024 and received approval from the county council’s regulatory committee in February 2025.
Councillor Steve Forster, Hampshire County Council’s cabinet member for education, previously said: “We are thrilled to move forward with the development of a new primary school in Hartland Village.
“This project reflects our commitment to providing excellent educational opportunities for all children in Hampshire and keeping pace with areas of population growth.”
