AMERY Hill students received what headteacher Stephen Crabtree declared "their best ever average GCSE results" last Thursday.

A delighted Mr Crabtree said it was "the reward for a great deal of hard work by staff, and in particular students".

He was pleased in particular with results in the three core subjects of English, maths and science, adding: "The students have all done very well - the vast majority will be going on to continue their education."
