AMERY Hill’s new year-seven students rose to Macmillan’s Biggest Coffee Morning challenge by baking and selling cakes at their first charity fundraising event.

Hayley Elliott, progress leader for year seven, said: “Our new students have quickly settled into school and are already making a positive contribution to our school community.

“It has been great to see them enthusiastically rise to the challenge, raise funds for such a worthwhile cause and make new friendships in the process.”

Students, staff and visitors to the school were treated to a selection of home-baked cakes and helped raise £218.24 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
