Phyllis Tuckwell will celebrate the 20th anniversary of its Santa Fun Run on Sunday, December 3 – and calling on runners to sign up now and help make it a day to remember.

This festive Fun Run is a great way for the whole family to really get into the Christmas spirit, raising money and awareness for local hospice care charity Phyllis Tuckwell.

It will start at 11am at the Wavell School in Farnborough, on Sunday, December 3.

Participants will complete two laps of Queen’s Avenue playing fields, a total distance of approximately 5k.

Everyone is welcome – including dogs (on a lead) – and it’s not timed, so you can run, jog or walk at whatever pace you feel comfortable with.

Registration costs £15 for adults and £7 for children to include a Santa suit for adults or reindeer antlers for children, and Phyllis Tuckwell asks that you try to raise as much sponsorship money as you can.

Last year these festive Santas and their reindeer raised more than £14,500, enough to pay for all of Phyllis Tuckwell’s Living Well day services for over a week.

Supporting more than 600 patients a year, these services offer outpatient appointments and group sessions to patients who need some support managing everyday life.

From nursing care, therapies and counselling, to mindfulness, cooking and exercise sessions, they provide guidance, advice and peer support to those who really need it.

“This year is a special one for our fantastic Santa Fun Runs and we’re hoping to get as many Santas and reindeer along to help us celebrate as we can!” said Fiona Chapman, events fundraiser at Phyllis Tuckwell.

“We’d love to beat last year’s total raised, so that we can fund even more of the specialist hospice care that we provide for our patients and their families.”
