EGGAR’S School marked Armistice Day with an installation of nearly 200 hand-made ceramic painted poppies, each created by a member of Year 8.

The poppies took centre stage for the school’s acts of remembrance, including a student and member of staff playing the Last Post, signalling the start of the two-minute silence.

Art curriculum leader Jessica Brock said: "The project was inspired by the Blood Swept Lands and Seas of Red installation, when thousands of poppies swept around the Tower of London in 2014. I am incredibly proud that our poppies were central to the school’s activities.

"Students were so engaged in both the process and why they were creating them. They should be proud of their accomplishment of creating this installation together."
