RUMOURS that town centre event holders face road closure administration costs of up to £800 have been firmly denied.

Angela Howes, the principal licensing officer at East Hampshire District Council, said that while the council is drafting a consultation document on the introduction of charging for costs associated with providing road closure notices, this figure was speculation and off target as a one-off cost.
