THE children at Long Sutton Primary School celebrated the Queen’s 90th birthday with a week of exciting activities.

They prepared food to share with the whole school at a tea party, they painted pictures of the Queen in the style of different artists such as Andy Warhol and Roy Lichtenstein and displayed them in an art exhibition in the school hall, and they took part in a competition to design a miniature garden for the Queen.

At the end of the week the children held their giant tea party, including staff and parents.

It began with games outside on the school field and maypole dancing.

They ate ham sandwiches and scones with cream and jam and finished the day singing the National Anthem and Happy Birthday to the Queen with great enthusiasm.
