A?SHOW in Kingsley raised thousands of pounds for charity.
The White Dove Collectors Transport Show, held on Sunday, August 6, featured more than 500 classic cars and vintage motorcycles and, as always, “every penny” raised will go to Phyllis Tuckwell Hospice.
Event organiser John Turner said that,
although the figure is yet to be officially
confirmed, it’s expected that in excess of £12,000 will be heading the hospice’s way to help cover its transport-related costs.
Veteran motors were the stars of the show but vying for guests’attention were The Shadows tribute band, That Sound, and Echoes of Elvis.
A new attraction for this year’s show –
falconry, provided by A Fistful of Feathers also “went down very well”, Mr Turner said.
“We had a lot of people in, some lovely cars – and luckily good weather,” he said, adding that he would like to thank all those who gave up their time for free and the event’s sponsors: Grizzly Tools, Thorne Leggett Funeral Directors, MOTEST, Forest Motors, North Hants Tyres, Bill Rawles Classic Cars, XJ Engineering, Phillips Motor Services, Motorlink Distribution, Farnborough Communications and Lynchford Tyre Centre.
