Liphook in Bloom volunteers have been celebrating 25 years of brightening up the village with flowers this week.

Their work began five years after the A3 bypass meant a major road no longer passed through Liphook.

This year’s flowers are blooming and a celebratory trail with interactive boards is set out around the village.

There are two walks, a shorter one around the village and a longer one which takes in Radford Park.

The shorter walk is 1.6 miles, quite flat and follows dropped-kerb locations for better wheelchair and pram access. The longer one is 3.2 miles and includes some grass areas, a steep climb and crossing Haslemere Road without dropped kerbs.

Maps and directions can be downloaded from www.liphookinbloom.co.uk and the walks can be done at any time on any day.

On Saturday there will be more celebrations at the Millennium Hall including a treasure trail for children aged 12 and under.

A spokesperson said: “We have even created a new shrub bed in Station Road to commemorate the occasion. Come and join the celebrations!”
