One of the highlights of the March 9 sale was a bronze sculpture of a racehorse called 'Docklands Express' by Philip Blacker, a jockey-turned-artist born in 1949.

The sculpture sold for £2,000, surpassing its estimate of £1,200 to £1,800. Blacker has ridden over 300 winning horses, and his life-size sculpture of Red Rum is on display at Aintree Racecourse.

Another notable sale was a French carved giltwood frame dating from the 19th century. The frame was estimated to sell for £400 to £600 but sold for an impressive £1,800 to a French buyer.
