Easter celebrations are set to begin in Farnham, with Brightwells Yard hosting a free programme of family activities to attract visitors.
Brightwells will transform into a discovery zone for “The Great Hatch Hunt” – a series of free activities running until Sunday, April 12.
The centre-wide event invites children to become “hatchery experts” by taking part in a mystery egg trail. Eight decorated eggs will be hidden in windows across Brightwells, each revealing a different mystery resident.
Families can pick up a free trail sheet from Pirates Landing to track down the eggs, solve the clues and claim a chocolate prize.
Alongside the daily trail, two special event days will take place.
A hatching craft workshop will be held on Saturday, April 4, from noon to 3pm. Delivered in partnership with the New Ashgate Gallery, artist Sinéad Fox will lead a session where children can create handmade spring decorations to take home.
An animal experience will follow on Saturday, April 11, from 11am to 2pm, giving families the chance to meet live egg-laying animals, from reptiles to birds.
A spokesperson for the Brightwells management team said: “We wanted to create a real sense of adventure for the local community.
“The Great Hatch is all about getting families outdoors. By partnering with the New Ashgate Gallery and bringing in live animals, we’re offering a mix of education and creativity that is completely free for everyone.”
