EAST Hampshire Sports Awards has won sponsorship from two major companies.

Everyone Active, part of Sports and Leisure Management Ltd, and the Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company are supporting next year’s sports awards which recognise local sportsmen and women at every level, as well as the coaches, officials and volunteers who help them succeed.

The event, organised by East Hampshire District Council (EHDC), takes place on Thursday, February 15, at Old Thorns Manor Hotel in Liphook, hosted by ITV’s Fred Dinenage.

David Love, Everyone Active’s area contract manager, said: “We are very proud to be involved in the East Hampshire District Sports Awards. We see first-hand the difference that being active makes to communities and it is great to recognise the dedication of those who make local sport a success.”

WBRC project lead, James Child, said: “We are very pleased to be sponsoring the East Hampshire Sports Awards 2018. Our sponsorship will help to recognise the local talented sportsmen, women and young people and will hopefully help them continue their development.

“We are particularly proud that our sponsorship will help young athletes as they will eventually become the role models for future generations”.

Julie Butler, EHDC’s portfolio holder for customer relations, said: “We are delighted to have the support from Everyone Active and Whitehill & Bordon Regeneration Company for the sports awards ceremony.

“It is such a fantastic event that allows us to give the people who dedicate their lives to sport the recognition they deserve.

“Having these two major companies, both of which operate locally, will help the event continue to be the prestigious evening that is highly anticipated by sports people across the district every year.”

EHDC wants people to nominate anyone who has excelled in their sporting environment in 2017.

The deadline for nominations is Friday, January 5. Nomination forms, guidelines and award categories can be found at easthants.gov.uk/sportsawards2018.
