ALTON deputy town mayor Dean Phillips has handed over prizes to two lucky winners of the ‘Spot the Herald Bear’ competition, which they entered at the Herald Classic Car Show in Alton last month.

The task was to find three Herald bears displayed in windscreens of cars exhibiting on the day.

The winner of first prize was four-year old Madison Short, from Holybourne, who received a Herald bear, together with a £30 voucher from The Toy Shed (Alton) and a family voucher worth £49.99 from Birdworld at Holt Pound, near Farnham.

The runner-up (but not pictured) was Jenson Niven, from Alton, and third was Madison’s seven-year-old brother, Callum Short, who both received Herald bears as prizes.
