A CHARITY night generated £1,980 at the weekend, when some familiar faces popped into Alton Maltings Centre.

The Hopes and Dreams Tribute Night, held on Saturday, raised money for charity Dreams Come True, which gives seriously and terminally ill children the opportunity to fulfil a dream.

Organiser Sally Powell said the evening was a great success and thanked all the sponsors and volunteers who made it possible.

“Our Katy Perry and Amy Winehouse was a lady called Vicky Jackson and our Robbie Williams was a chap called Lee Pashley,” Sally explained.

“Fish and chips were provided by Kingfisher Fish and Chips in Alton. We had three acts followed by a disco by a 15-year-old boy called Francis Searle.

“Three more year 11 pupils from Amery Hill School helped for free collecting glasses. Bar staff also worked for free. Alcohol was provided by The Naked Grape. The event was sponsored by Homes Estate Agents and Absolute Healthcare from Four Marks also made a donation. Alton Maltings Centre were amazing as always.”

With her husband, Andy, and friends Kelly and Darren Searle, Sally has organised plenty of charity dos and has now set her sights on a £50,000 total target for charity fundraising.
