ST ANDREW’S Infant School pupils are all set for this Sunday’s (July 4) Farnham Charity Bike Ride, and they think you should come along too!

Jointly organised by St Andrew’s Infant School and Farnham Round Table, the bike ride elves have been busy in the background getting ready for the sporting event of the Farnham summer calendar.

Despite the recent government announcement delaying the easing of Covid restrictions, the event is fortunately still able to go ahead.

The organising team have ensured that all necessary assessments have been made, and appropriate procedures put in place for a Covid secure cycle.

Medal sponsors, ME Estate Agents have kindly been producing sign boards promoting the event, and you may have seen those popping up around the town.

ME will also be handing out a free medal for every rider.

With the weather forecast showing early promise for Sunday, Castle Street will be a buzz of activity from 6am, with a barbecue laid on by ME Estate Agents, a free bottle of beer from partners the Hogs Back Brewery, and an ice cream van.

Providing mechanical support will be the ‘Bicycle Cave’, and 3rd Farnham Scouts will be manning a refreshment stand.

With four marshalled routes to chose from (16, 25, 50, and 75 miles) there is something for families and club cyclists alike, with refreshment points along the routes to keep you fed and watered.

Online registration is now closed, but don’t worry as you can still come along and register on the day.

All profits raised from the event are distributed between St Andrew’s and, via Farnham Round Table, to local charities and good causes.

A road closure will be in place from 5am to 5pm in Castle Street this Sunday to facilitate the mass participation event. There will also be more cyclists than usual on local roads.
