ALTON College Music students played and sang carols at Sainsbury’s supermarket in Alton to the delight of shoppers.

Conducted by music teacher Phil Singleton, the young singers raised £275 for the Martin Read Foundation which supports young composers.

The late Martin Read was head of music at Alton College until his untimely death in 2012.
