THE sun shone and more than 6,000 people turned out to enjoy Alton's fifth annual Food Festival on Saturday.
This year's event was run by Alton Chamber of Commerce and Industry working with Hampshire Farmers' Markets, Alton Lions and Alton Town Council.
The festival filled the High Street from the top of Crown Hill to Cross and Pillory Lane, running into the Market Square, with stalls selling everything from fresh fruit and vegetables to plants and flowers, and from a wide range of food and local produce to intricate craft work.
