Surrey Police appealing for help to identify the man seen in this CCTV image, as they believe he may be able to help with its investigation into a distraction theft in Haslemere.

Police are currently investigating a report of a bank card theft that took place in Waitrose car park on West Street at around 11.30am on Thursday, January 26.

The victim noticed the suspect hovering nearby when she was paying for her shopping, he then followed her to the car park where he approached to let her know about a scratch on the side of her car.

It is believed that it was during this moment her purse was taken from her handbag.

The suspect withdrew more than £3,000 from a nearby ATM using the victim’s card.

Surrey Police believe the man in this image may be able to assist with its investigation.
