TGJones has confirmed its Farnham town centre store will close on January 27, 2027, with the Post Office inside also expected to shut on the same day.

The retailer has announced that its shop on The Borough will close following a closing-down sale, leaving the town facing the prospect of losing its main Post Office until a replacement can be found.

The closure follows the implementation of TGJones' court-approved restructuring plan, aimed at securing the company's long-term future.

A TGJones spokesperson said: "As we work to secure the long-term future of TGJones, we have confirmed that our Farnham shop will close.

"We know this will be disappointing news for our colleagues, customers and the local community. Our focus now is on supporting those affected and continuing to serve customers throughout the closure period.

"We would like to thank all of our colleagues for their commitment and the contribution they have made to TGJones."

The Post Office has already confirmed that its branch inside the store will close in early 2027 and is considering expressions of interest from retailers willing to operate a replacement.

However, no new premises have been secured, and the Post Office has warned that opening a replacement branch could take around six months.

In the meantime, customers will have to use alternative branches in Lower Bourne, Wrecclesham and Weybourne.

Farnham and Bordon MP Gregory Stafford, who launched a petition to save the branch earlier this year, has pledged to continue pressing for a replacement.

Mr Stafford previously said: "I will continue working with the Post Office to identify suitable premises and pressing for every option to be considered. My priority is to ensure that residents and businesses can continue to access the essential services they rely on."

TGJones said customers could continue shopping at nearby stores and online.
