POLICE are urging people in Alton to be vigilant after a series of break-ins.
A spokesman for Hampshire Police confirmed that two garages on Plovers Way had been broken into last Friday. At the time of going to press, it was unclear whether anything had been taken from the garages.
People are being urged to ensure all garages, sheds and outbuildings are locked and the contents secure. They are also being asked to consider taking down serial numbers for valuable items such as bicycles or garden equipment.
To log valuable items, visit hampshire.police.uk. To report suspicious behaviour, call the police on 101, or 999 in an emergency.
