FIGURES released by East Hampshire District Council (EHDC) have revealed that the authority's seven top earners take home between them salaries of more than half-a-million pounds.

The salary banding figures for its senior management team come hot on the heels of the publication of the expenses claimed by East Hampshire district councillors and in the wake of the jaw-dropping scale of MPs' salaries and their expenses.
