The family of one of the young men killed in a two-vehicle collision on the A31 Farnham bypass in the early hours of Wednesday, July 6 has paid tribute to their son.

Harry Dervan, 22, from Farnham, was pronounced dead at the scene after a collision involving a Volkswagen Polo and a Mercedes took place between the Coxbridge roundabout and the Weydon Lane junction at around 1am. The family continues to be supported by specialist officers.

The driver of the other car, a 32-year-old man, remains in hospital in a critical condition.

The family of Harry Dervan said: “It is with great sadness and regret that Andy, Alex and Millie Dervan confirm the death of our beloved son and brother Harry Dervan.

“Harry tragically died in a car crash in the early hours of Wednesday, July 6, 2022, here in Farnham. He was a passenger being given a lift home after a night out.

“As a family we are heartbroken and truly devastated at the loss of our wonderful Harry.

“Harry was a larger-than-life character who was always happy and always funny, he lit up a room and made people laugh and smile. He was a kind, gentle and generous soul who was beginning to achieve great success in his career as an IT engineer.

“His infectious and jovial personality made him easy company and he treated everyone with respect no matter who they were. He had a very large circle of great friends who we know are all sharing in our hurt at his loss.

“Harry, our darling boy, we will all miss you so much, the pain is unbearable. We will hold you in our hearts and minds forever.

“We love you Harry – Mum, Dad and Mills.”

The Inquest into both deaths opens today at Surrey Coroner’s Court.
