ALTON Lions called in at Sainsbury’s last Friday to pick up three trollies full of food and other goods donated by the supermarket giant’s customers for the Lions’ Christmas appeal.

These will be distributed to people in need in the community, with some going to Alton Food Bank, to the area’s residential homes, and to support the Alton Churches Together Christmas lunch, which this year will be in the St Lawrence Parish Room.

Alton Lions have expressed grateful thanks to all those who donated to this collection, as well as to the recent house-to-house collection in Alton, Four Marks and Holybourne, and to Sainsbury’s management for their help with the in-store collections.
