After the success of last summers climate action fair on the Heath, Petersfield is hosting a family friendly climate engagement and networking event on Valentines Day.

The Festival Hall event is part of the national Show the Love campaign organised by the Climate Coalition and there will be a range of stall holders to advise on climate issues as well as story telling and face painting for younger eco campaigners.

Stalls include Petersfield Climate Action Network (PeCAN), The Wildlife Trust, South Downs National Park Authority, The Woodland Trust, the climate team from Hampshire County Council, Petersfield Bee Keepers, East Hampshire District Council, Candle Cavern, Greenpeace, Alton Climate Action Network (ACAN), Pipers Honey, Faye Fables - Story Teller, Face painters and more.

Petersfield tree expert Robin Hart and Craig Mills, Head Ecologist at Coombes UK, will be giving presentations, with a question and answer session at the end of Craig’s presentation.

An event spokesman said: “Planet Petersfield is our home, so come along and find out how we can all make it a better and a greener place to live by building a sustainable future one event and one town at a time.”

There will also be two films screened during the day, Sir David Attenborough’s Climate change – The Facts at 1.45pm and Before the Flood starring Leonardo DiCaprio from 5.30pm.

These films are free to attend, and during the day there will be refreshments on sale in the Rose Room and mobile caterers in the car park by the Festival Hall entrance.

Parking, electric car charging points and cycle racks are available in the pay and display Festival Hall car park for the on Tuesday, February 14, from noon to 7.15pm.
