A Farnham business leader has heralded the arrival of the new REEL Cinema at the heart of the Brightwells Yard scheme.

Paul Adams, director of the Farnham Business Improvement District and owner of Branston Adams accountants, said the cinema is an “an absolute credit to Farnham”.

Speaking to the Herald at a Champagne reception to launch the cinema on Wednesday, January 31, Mr Adams said it was nice to have film back in the town after a long time away.

He added the new cinema is “buzzing” and added his hope it will bring more people – and specifically younger people – into the town centre, boosting the local economy.

The cinema has already created dozens of new jobs, with many recruits coming from the nearby University for the Creative Arts in Farnham.

And it is hoped the offer of the new cinema, as well as arriving restaurants such as Nando’s and Coppa Club later this year will draw more people into the eastern end of the town centre.
