MORE than 200 people completed the St Swithun’s Way Walk and Run on Sunday, April 28, in aid of Treloar School and College in Holybourne.

The flagship event, now in its seventh year, raises vital funds to support disabled young people with the most complex physical disabilities to experience a fulfilling and rewarding life; whether through the enjoyment of learning, music, sport, art, or sensory activities.

The weather remained dry, but considerably cooler than the previous weekend - perfect conditions for walkers and runners to set some impressive times.

The participants, including a number of four-legged ones, set off across the rolling Hampshire hills and completed the five mile route to Bentley School for a refreshment stop.

Many then carried to finish the full ten mile course which ended at Farnham Park with a cup of tea and bacon buttie!

Along the route, the volunteer marshals handed out energy-boosting bananas, courtesy of sponsors Fyffes as well as water donated by Hildon and fruit and nut bars courtesy of Eat Natural.

Treloar’s events manager, Laura Toop, said: "St Swithun’s Way Walk and Run is such an enjoyable and important event in our fundraising calendar.

"It unites the Treloar’s community, bringing together supporters, both old and new, whilst helping raise funds and awareness for Treloar’s.

"Thank you to everyone who took part on the day, and those that sponsored a loved one.

"Your support really will help to change lives."
