WAVERLEY mayor Cllr John Robini’s Magical Christmas event was cancelled on Saturday, but the fundraising continues.

In view of the continued uncertainty regarding the Covid pandemic and the rising numbers of confirmed cases throughout Waverley and in Surrey, the Mayor’s Magical Christmas event was cancelled last weekend.

Residents, however, can still help raise funds for charity and be in with a chance to win a fantastic prize too.

The event, which was due to take place last Saturday, December 4, hoped to raise funds for Cllr Robini’s chosen charities, A Place To Be, Skillway and Hydestile Wildlife Hospital.

Residents can, however, still make donations and enter a special raffle, with the draw now taking place on Thursday, December 16.

Tickets are £1 each and there are some amazing prizes to be won, including: A beautifully decorated Christmas cake made by the mayoress of Waverley, Cllr Jacquie Keen; Silent Pool Gin Tour; Albury Vineyard Tour; 4 Ball Golf Voucher at Cranleigh Golf & Country Club; Champagne afternoon tea at Barnett Hill Hotel.

Tickets can be purchased by emailing Alice Raines, executive assistant to the mayor of Waverley Borough Council at [email protected] - you can also donate via the Mayor’s JustGiving page at https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/waverleymayor2021 and then email Alice to ask for raffle tickets in exchange for your donation.
