The class of 2026 has done itself proud with Weydon School celebrating another set of excellent GCSE results.
Some 85 per cent of students achieved a Grade 4 or higher in English and Maths while 70 per cent picked up a Grade 5 or higher in the same subjects.
Furthermore, a remarkable 49 per cent of grades were 7 to 9 with a third awarded at grade 8 or 9.
Nearly half the cohort achieved 5 grades at 7-9 with 42 students achieving an impressive ten passes at grades 7-9.
Seven students achieved ten or more grades 8 and 9, which included Zoe LC, Zirva R, Alis P and Jodie P who achieved a grade 9 for every one of their subjects.

Also achieving exceptional results were Rita PD, Sophie C, Oliver T, Isla T and Sophie R who attained grades 8 and 9 for every subject and Larissa BT, Victoria E, Rosie B, Molly T, Orla D, William G, Ella Kn and Holly AW who achieved 10 grades at grades 8 and 9.

Oliver Thorogate said: “I was really nervous because it's been a long time where I was doubting how I'd done, but it was really good to just have got it out of the way."
"I got Nine nines and an eight - I said that was the best possible that I could do and I've done it and I never would have thought I would have done that.
“My mum's probably going to start crying when I tell her.”
Ros Allen, Principal of Weydon School said: “We are thrilled that our students have achieved such exceptional results collectively and individually.
“It is wonderful to see their hard work and talents recognised in this way, and above all to know that they have the grades they need to take their chosen next steps in local schools and Sixth Form colleges. “
Zoe Lomas Clarke achieved a Grade 9 in every single subject and was over the moon when she opened her results.
As she collected her results with friend Amalie Onions they said: “We were so scared.
“We were walking up here and we were like, oh my God, we both worked so hard, if we got anything less than what we wanted it would be like really disappointing."

We are relieved and happy. All that hard work for like months has just gone into it.”
The day is also an emotional one for parents with Tom Mayes’s mother, Amy, calling the day “a real milestone”.
"We all opened them together with other family friends, and all at the same time, so it was really lovely.
“There were definitely some nerves from Tom and myself, but we were also very excited. "
“I knew he had an expectation of what he was really aiming for, so I was just hoping that he would be content and happy with himself, and he was."
