THE ROAD south of Butser will be paved with gold later this week as the Windmill Players will lift the curtain on their much-loved annual panto in Clanfield.

Expect plenty of silliness, a man-hungry dame and double entendres galore when Dick Whittington comes to the Memorial Hall stage this Friday and Saturday.

The rags-to-riches tale of a man and his cat tackling the rats of Old London is ideal for chasing away the winter blues.

Performances will take place at 7.30pm on the Friday and Saturday (Dec 19 and 20) with a 2pm matinee on the latter.

Tickets £9 for adults, £8 concessions, on the door or from 01730 231474 in advance.
