CHILDREN at Alton’s Busy Bees Nursery have enjoyed a week of activities to celebrate the Queen’s 90th birthday.

The celebrations culminated last Friday with their very own street party, with games in the garden followed by the cutting (and eating) of a lovely birthday cake and cup cakes.

During conversations about the Queen and discussing what they would do should she visit Busy Bees, the answers were very amusing.

One young person said: “I would sing her Baa Baa Black Sheep.”

And another young reveller proudly said: “I would give her Brussels sprouts, chocolate spread and sausages. She would really, really love it.”

n Busy Bees Nursery is based at the Hawkins Guides headquarters in Chawton Park Road, Alton, and is open to children aged two to five, five days per week during term time.
