The Haslemere Performing Arts Festival team won a record 18 golds, 21 silvers and 15 bronze medals at the British Arts Awards national finals in London.

Pupils from the Haslemere Performing Arts Dance and Musical Theatre (HPA) qualified for the finals in a range of dance disciplines including drama and song sections with some outstanding solo, duet and group performances.

HPA won eight trophies with principal Angela Cantan winning the leading teacher award.

The school was opened in 1968 and runs classes in Haslemere, Liphook and Beacon Hill in ballet, tap, modern dance and streetdance as well as musical theatre and vocal coaching.
