HASLEMERE Bowling Club were victorious in the final of the Holbrook Cup at Stedham BC, winning by a margin of 62 shots to 41 against Arundel BC.

It was a tough competition this year and Haslemere only won narrowly against Pagham BC in the semi-finals.

The bowlers were lucky to have a fine afternoon for the final and Stedham organised an excellent tea afterwards.

Haslemere BC have enjoyed a successful season, with both their Three Counties League teams gaining promotion. They have a team in the Three Counties Triples final and are also playing in the final of the Three Counties President’s Cup against Milford Bowling Club this Saturday (Sept 16).

The Holbrook Cup winning team were James Brown, Shirley Bicknell, John Phillips, Sheila Simons, Freddie Willey, Gary Clark, Janet Rothwell, Geoff Topp and Koos Engelbrecht.
