FARNHAM-based Carlin team driver Enaam Ahmed claimed the Duo BRDC British Formula Three Autumn Trophy last weekend, following a disrupted last day due to thick fog at the Snetterton circuit in Norfolk.
Ahmed already had a healthy lead in the standings after a victory and a podium finish on Saturday and added a further win to clinch the trophy on Sunday.
James Pull, also of Carlin, crashed out of the final race on the first lap, while Cameron Das avoided multiple incidents in the tricky conditions to take fifth position.
Qualifying was abandoned and the third race was run in championship order, meaning that Ahmed had pole position. There was a further delay until the afternoon when a break in the fog finally allowed the race to get underway.
Soon, the safety car was out while damaged cars were removed from the track. Joey Mawson began to close the gap on leader Ahmed, but the Carlin man held his nerve to claim his second win of the weekend.
There should have been a fourth race, but returning fog ruled out any further action and Enaam Ahmed was crowned the Autumn Trophy victor with a 17-point advantage. Das and Pull finished seventh and eighth respectively in the standings.
