GRAYSWOOD II posted an impressive 253-6 off 45 overs after being asked to bat first by Blackheath II in I’Anson Division Three.

Callan McIntyre propelled the home side to that impressive total with a superb 160 not out off 112 balls.

Yet the opener ended up on the losing side as a strong Blackheath team raced to a five-wicket victory with six overs to spare.

The other batsmen were content to support McIntyre as he punished all the bowlers, hitting 22 fours and five sixes, and showing little sign of fatigue in the steamy heat.

After a good start, Blackheath were stuttering at 55-2 and then 72-3, with Rob Rist taking two quick wickets. Opener Matt Burch reached a fine 78 before being bowled by McIntyre and at 126-5, all four results were possible.

Chris Lewis (65 not out) and Archie Freeth (48 not out) then took the game away from Grayswood with an excellent unbroken partnership of 133. Lewis struck the winning runs in the 39th over. A total of 512 runs scored for the loss of 11 wickets – must have been a flat batting track.

Tilford II were also in the runs as they continued their perfect record at the top of the division. Milford chose to field first and their bowlers toiled hard, but an opening stand of 121 between Martin Cantwell (73) and Chris Wilson (47) ensured a big total. Henry Bate, Johnny Barran and Hamish Macdonald all weighed in as Tilford posted 230-3 in 44 overs.

Milford made a fair start, but only Matt Jones, with 48, was able to dominate the bowlers. He eventually fell to Martin Cantwell who took three wickets in four overs. Rick Austin and Barran also claimed three victims apiece and Milford were bowled out for 159 in the 38th over.

Grayshott III avenged an earlier heavy defeat as they crushed a depleted Wood Street side on a red-hot afternoon at Broxhead. The visitors still possessed a testing attack and the second-wicket pair of Rob Ward and Jarryd Brown did well to see off the new ball. This paved the way for an aggressive partnership between Brown and Will Kriehn. Wood Street wilted as Brown plundered 134, including 22 fours and seven sixes. Kriehn finished 81 not out and Grayshott declared at 261-4 from 42 overs.

Twelve overs later, a hapless Wood Street were all out for 43, Julian Oosthuizen and the tireless Kriehn having each taken four wickets. They were supported by some sharp fielding, with a stunning catch by keeper Zach Burrage sealing the victory.

Peper Harow, after their strong start to the season, continued their slide down the table, well beaten by second-placed Bramley. But in to bat, Peper Harow were dispatched for 110 in 31 overs and it would have been much worse but for 35 extras, including 18 no-balls. Even so, Bramley bowled well, Dan Burstow being the pick of the attack with 3-19 in nine overs.

Ali Holmes (52 not out) just had time to complete a fine half-century in reply as Bramley got the runs in 24 overs for the loss of only one wicket. Tom Fraser and Henry Turner gave able support.

Kingsley recovered from a bad start to total 189-6 in 48 overs and no surprise that it was Nick Randall who led the fightback with 91 not out. Paul Boxford gave strong support with 40.

Santosh (46) and Jack Cantle (42) put Dogmersfield in a strong position, but the visitors faltered against Oli Cooper (5-42) and Randall (3-21) and just held out for a draw on 155-9.
