ROWLEDGE moved back to second in Division Two of the Southern Premier League with a six-wicket victory over struggling Trojans at Stoneham Lane.
Electing to bat, Trojans looked on course for a 250 total as they powered to 137-1. But things changed when Nigel Le Bas was adjudged lbw to Steve Martin for 51 and, six runs later, Ollie Baker had captain Syed Mahmood caught for 74.
Rowledge turned up the heat on a baking afternoon and tight bowling, coupled with inept batting – three comical run-outs – saw Trojans capitulate for 182 all out.
The run-chase was more of a stroll for a confident Rowledge, thanks to a classy 47 from David Lloyd, 37 from Australian Fraser Wilson and 41 not out from Sam Moseley, who seems to be growing in stature with each innings.
