TILFORD II are one of four teams with a full set of points after three games in I’Anson Division Three.
Henry Bate hit 40 on his debut for Tilford, while the in-form Johnny Barran completed a second successive 50. Dogmersfield II, chasing 214, shot to 38 in just six overs before keeper Bate took a brilliant catch off James Clements. The home side looked in control at 115-2, but the wily Rick Austin (5-27) induced some rash shots and Dogmersfield fell 14 runs short on 200 all out (A Subhani 43 not out).
Kingsley were helped to a third straight win by the staggering 73 extras, including 61 wides, conceded by Grayshott III at Broxhead. Grayshott seemed safe from defeat after amassing 260-4, with Jarryd Brown hitting 74 off 68 balls. Helped by Grayshott’s ‘wide disease’, Kingsley cantered to victory in 42 overs, with Paul Boxford making a fine 68 not out.
Milford amassed 264-5 against Peper Harow, thanks to an unbroken partnership of 157 between Ben Green (88 not out) and Ross Ferguson (a rapid 84 not out), plus 48 extras. There followed one of the best innings seen at Milford as Glenn Taylor raced to 140, following his 190 not out the previous week. It was shot-making of the highest quality as he blasted the visitors to victory in just 35 overs.
Bramley recorded a third comfortable win of the season. Hosts Headley II conceded a generous 50 extras, but Bramley hardly needed them as they bundled the home side out for 71. Tim Fraser top-scored with 69 in Bramley’s total of 228. Headley’s reply was largely a procession of batsmen and they were dismissed inside 25 overs.
Tim Cooley (4-36) was the most successful bowler as Grayswood II dismissed Puttenham II for a modest 122. After a stuttering start (7-3), Tim Matthews (51 not out) took control for Grayswood and an unbroken stand with Anirban Roy (35 not out) completed a six-wicket win.
Blackheath II made light work of the task after being set 168 to win by Wood Street. Tom Grist’s 45 gave the visitors what seemed a competitive score and Grist took an early wicket when Blackheath replied. But Richard Gray (83 not out) and Rob Sibley (63 not out) settled into a stand of 143 and steered their side to a nine-wicket victory in just 27 overs.
