ALDERSHOT, Farnham & District’s men’s and women’s teams will represent the United Kingdom at the European Clubs Cross Country Cup meeting in Albufeira, Portugal on February 5.

The UK trial was held at Liverpool on Saturday and AFD won both the team events.

Emily Hosker-Thornhill was also the individual winner of the women’s race, well backed up by AFD team-mates Louise Small (5th), Lauren Hall (6th), Georgie Bruinvels (7th) and Philippa Bowden (8th).

Andy Vernon was runner-up in the men’s race and Jonny Hay, also of AFD, finished fourth. Josh Grace (7th), Joe Wade (11th) and Steve Connor (13th) gave strong support.

Swansea Harriers were runners-up in both the races.
