Alton under-12 Cyclones enjoyed a superb 2022-23 season.

The team play in the North East Hampshire Youth League (NEHYL) and won 13 out of their 14 games – drawing the other game – to pick up 40 points out of a possible 42 and win the league title.

The Cyclones were the top points scorers for under-12s in the whole of the NEHYL – which consists of 71 teams.

The Cyclones scored 73 goals and conceded 18.

The Cyclones also reached the League Shield cup final – beating three teams along the way. The cup final finished 2-2, but the Cyclones lost the penalty shoot-out.

At the end of the league season the Cyclones entered a few tournaments and enjoyed plenty of success.

At the Fleet Spurs tournament the Cyclones competed against 11 other teams and managed to win the tournament by one point.

At the Badshot Lea tournament the Cyclones competed against ten other teams and finished runners-up.

The team conceded only two goals in eight games and were unbeaten in the tournament, but lost the final in a penalty shoot-out.

Next season the Cyclones will move up to the under-13 level – which is the start of 11-a-side football.

The Cyclones are looking for talented and committed boys and girls to join the team.
