Petersfield Town earned an impressive 3-1 win at Sherborne Town in the Wessex League Premier Division.
Making their longest journey of the season in the league, the Rams secured their first three-point haul of the campaign with a hard-fought victory.
In the first half both sides struggled to find fluency in their play. However, Sherborne were the more threatening, and they opened the scoring in the 37th minute through Ollie Crisp.
The Rams responded to the setback, but Sherborne comfortably held onto their slender lead through to half-time.
Petersfield brought on Iggy Cake for George Comben for the start of the second half, but it was the home side who initially took control as they sought to extend their lead.
A combination of good defending and some fine saves from goalkeeper Riley Garrett kept the Rams in the match.
The Rams made further changes, and substitute Jean-Pierre Alexander levelled the scores in the 65th minute with a close-range shot.
From that point on the complexion of the match changed completely with the Rams looking a much more potent force.
Aided by a catastrophic defensive blunder, George Bowerman slotted home in the 76th minute to give Petersfield the lead.
The Rams became even more dominant, and a superb 82nd-minute strike from Alexander effectively put the game to bed, and they comfortably saw out the remaining time for a deserved win.
Petersfield Town lost 3-2 at home to East Cowes Victoria in the Wessex League Premier Division.
The Rams took the lead in the 12th minute when Alfie Stringer fed George Comben, whose effort found the bottom corner.
The visitors scored two quick-fire goals to turn the match around, before going 3-1 up in the 67th minute.
Petersfield pulled a goal back on 80 minutes when Harry Close’s cross was headed home by Austin Giles.
