BASHLEY 0, PETERSFIELD 5

PETERSFIELD Town got in some useful practice when they put five goals past Bashley in a delayed Russell Cotes Cup first-round match.

Bashley’s current record in the Southern League Div I South & West, read a woeful played 23, lost 23, with 111 goals conceded, so anything but a Petersfield win would have been an embarrassment.

The visitors did a professional job. A spirited Bashley held out for half-an-hour before the Rams took control with two goals in three minutes from Joe Richardson and Andy Todd.

Another Richardson strike made it 3-0 at half-time.

Petersfield coasted through the rest of the game.

Oli Bailey scored the fourth with ten minutes to go and an own goal by defender Gary Rogers completed a useful work-out for the Rams.
