A LATE Mitch Brundle goal condemned Aldershot Town to their first home defeat since October.
Brundle connected with Myles Weston’s cross four minutes from time to hand fellow strugglers Dagenham & Redbridge a 1-0 win at the EBB Stadium - their first away win since September.
It also dashed the hopes of a third consecutive win for Danny Searle’s men and leaves the Shots in 17th place - five points above the National League relegation zone - ahead of a tough trip to FA Trophy semi-finalists Notts County next Tuesday.
In the Combined Counties League, in-form Farnham Town made it nine league wins in a row as they beat battling Chessington & Hook United 1-0 at the Memorial Ground.
The only goal of the game came from red-hot striker Charlie Oakley who instinctively lobbed the Chessington keeper from the edge of the box on the hour mark after a long ball from the back from brother Harry.
Farnham squandered the chance to double their lead late on when Darren Wheeler was denied by a fine save low to his left by the Chessington shotstopper.
The win moves Town, who are away at Dorking Wanderers Reserves next Tuesday, 12 points ahead of third-placed Walton & Hersham in the race for the top four and promotion back to the top table next season.

But fading Alton Town’s hopes of promotion to the top division next season suffered another major setback as boss Kevin Adair’s side had a day to forget on the Isle of Wight, losing 3-0 at Newport.
Two goals from Jordan Browne and a third from Connor Kelly made the points safe for the islanders before Alton goalkeeper Justin Courtnage was sent off 20 minutes from time for bringing down Jared Cousins. But Kelly put the resulting spot kick over the crossbar before the home side were reduced to ten men deep in stoppage time when Spike Pearce was shown a straight red card.
