FARNHAM floorball hockey team Southern Vipers are on track for a place in the National Championships after picking up three points with an 8-0 win over Bristol at Haslemere.

Vipers were missing some key players, but still outclassed the Bristol side. In their other Division?One match, Vipers lost 6-2 to top London side Great White Sharks, but can still finish in the top three and automatically qualify for the National Championships in June when floorball takes over the National Football Centre at St George’s Park.

The Vipers squad included nine players from the youth team, Farnham Fireballs, who have accepted an invitation to take part in the prestigious Storvreta Cup in Sweden early next year.

The event takes place at the new £32 million floorball sports centre and is attended by some 700 teams. The organisers were keen to have a British youth team taking part and have offered free accommodation, food and entry fees.

Farnham are now holding floorball sessions at More House School in Frensham, as well as at Farnam Sports Centre, and are enjoying the extra space available.
