Four of Petersfield Golf Club’s members won the Waterlooville Seniors’ Open.

The event was a bowmaker tournament played in teams of four from the yellow tees, with each player playing their own ball.

Overall scores for each of the 30 teams were calculated by adding the best three out of four scores at every hole using the stableford scoring system.

Tim Allen, Ian Brackley, last year’s senior captain Richard Hine and John King played in the same event last year, when they finished in third place. They were delighted to win the trophy this year with 113 points – six points ahead of their nearest rivals.

The trophy will stay at Waterlooville, but it now has Petersfield Golf Club engraved on it for 2023.

The Petersfield team each received a small glass trophy and an £80 pro-shop voucher.
