FARNHAM Golf Club Juniors have won the inaugural Triangular Trophy, following the third event of the series at Blackmoor Golf Club.

The competition features junior teams from the Farnham, Blackmoor and Worplesdon clubs. Each club hosts a round and the overall score decides the winner.

Farnham had won the first leg, held at The Sands course in April, including an individual victory for Archie Walker with 42 stableford points.

Worplesdon hit back to win the second event on the their own course and Farnham’s youngsters took a slender one-point advantage into the last match.

The Farnham team (pictured) of Eddy Williams (capt), Dan Edes, Scott Barham, Adam Holmes, Josh Strauss, Caleb Strauss, Will Haimes, James Howell and Tom Skevington secured the title at Blackmoor.

In a tense finish, victory was only secured when eight-year-old Caleb Strauss, in the last group, scored an excellent 41 points to move Farnham back above Worplesdon. Caleb’s score also earned him individual honours on the day.
